Which Fishing Boat?
You left the boat
dock three hours ago and have been sitting on the boat seat ever since,
throwing the line in the water and dreaming of having your own boat.
Where should you go from here?

1. You want a
fishing boat, something fairly small but you’ve heard the stories of
the cramped inflatable ones losing air and deflating six miles from
the boat dock.
2. How about a jon boat? Now here’s a 10 to 16 foot long boat. This is
usually an aluminum boat that has a flat bottom. It’s great for
fishing in shallow water and for duck hunting. So in one boat you have
a fishing boat and a duck boat! They are pretty reasonable in price
and four people can fish at once. You can add a motor for convenience.
3. There are aluminum fishing boats that are not jon boats. They have
a "V" bottom and therefore handle better in the wind and rough water
than does the jon boat. You can also put a motor on an aluminum boat.
4. A Lund boat is used mostly for walleye fishing because of the
design. This type of boat is made of fiberglass and has a deep well so
it sits down further in the water. A little more pricey and you’ll
need a boat motor.
5. A bass boat is also made of fiberglass and moves quickly over the
water. You will need a motor with this boat, too.
6. There are many ways to find a boat. There are boat dealers and boat
shows if you are looking for a new boat. If you are thinking of buying
a used boat, check the boat blue book first. Places to find used boats
are a boat trader online, a boat auction or newspapers that list used
boats for sale.
Good luck and good fishing!!......
